Azzure Belle - 2026

The JPI Azure Belle is a fully custom hollowbody electric guitar built as a personal JPI design, combining classic hollowbody character with modern custom-shop details and a one-off blue figured finish. Built around a carved hollowbody-style body with f-holes, Azure Belle was finished in a deep blue dye that lets the figured top remain visible while giving the guitar a bold, elegant identity. Chrome hardware was chosen throughout to keep the look clean and to let the woodwork and finish remain the focus. The neck is a laminated wenge and maple construction, paired with a zebrawood fretboard, giving the guitar a striking natural contrast against the blue body. The matching blue headstock face ties the instrument together visually, while the chrome Taylor tuning machines add a clean, reliable finishing touch. For the bridge and string anchor, Azure Belle uses a chrome trapeze-style tailpiece with a hardtail bridge setup. This gives the guitar a traditional hollowbody feel without the extra movement and tuning concerns of a tremolo system. The result is stable, simple, and visually suited to the shape of the body.

Electronics are kept straightforward and musical: a pair of chrome-covered, vintage-output humbucker pickups mounted in black surrounds. These were chosen to suit the hollowbody construction, offering warmth, clarity, and enough bite without overpowering the natural resonance of the guitar. Black chicken-head knobs complete the control layout and give the front of the guitar a slightly vintage, slightly custom look.

Azure Belle was first strung and played publicly on Canada Day, only hours after final assembly. She was passed around and played by several people at Tim’s Canada BBQ, receiving excellent feedback for both feel and tone. That first outing became the guitar’s real-world shakedown test — and she passed it properly.
